The Food Network recently launched a new blog called Food2. It’s a national resource for all things food with a trendy spin. For example, you can now find the top 5 Stark Trek recipes. You can also find on the site a variety of things from original web series, recipes, cocktails, and user boards.
The launch was held on May 1st at the Food Network’s studios (located above the Chelsea Market) to give local foodies a peek into the new site. The host of one of their webseries, Kelsey and Spike Cook, were on-hand for the event greeting and chatting with food bloggers from the city. The series features Spike Mendelsohn (contestant of Top Chef Chicago and winner of the SoBe Burger Bash) and Kelsey Nixon (Fan Favorite of The Next Food Network Star‘s fourth season, Bloggers Food Network Kitchens Chefs).
The studios are fairly small but the square footage was definitely devoted to the kitchen area. Perhaps if I had their kitchen space, I wouldn’t be dining out quite so often! I would definitely recommend checking out their site though as a fun food resource. One fun section I recommend is their “$12 Challenge”. The tagline? “2 Love-Hungry Cooks. 1 Hot Date. 1 Ticking Clock and $12. Oh, and the City is their only kitchen.” $12 dinners? Definitely something recession friendly to check out!
