Last week, it was amazing to watch all of the various events, restaurant and bar promos, and the like pop up on Twitter and Facebook all over the city. Various opportunities for the community to come together, visit, and support a great cause, all at the same time. Not having a car, it’s easy to feel a bit limited as to what you can do to help and one of the easiest ways I’ve found is to really embrace the small businesses in not only my community but all over New York.
When T asked if I wanted to go to this Rockaways Relief event for our weekly date night, it was a no-brainer for me. The event was last Thursday at Hudson Terrace. Everyone working the booths were so nice. There was upbeat music and some fabulous food. It was so great to get the opportunity to meet Jimmy Carbone of Jimmy’s No. 43 and to try some of his fabulous food.
Did anyone have a chance to check out the other events going on in the city last week?
