charleston: hominy grill

If you’re ever in Charleston, I highly recommend making it a point to visit Hominy Grill. Before I went, I asked my friend Holl where we should go, and she noted this was one of her favorites. It definitely did not disappoint. Since grits are their thing (their t-shirts even read “grits are good for you” on the back of them), I not only had to order something involving grits, but I had to buy one of the shirts as a souvenir.

The restaurant is in a converted home. Warning, only one bathroom! Everything is housemade though and they have an extensive listing of specials each day which is displayed on big boards against the wall.

  1. Definitely worth it if you’re close by! I can only imagine too all of the old homes we saw would be gorgeous all decorated for Christmas. I’d love to see that.
